Merlin Speaks

“Merlin” refers to Joseph Lennon McCord, an original prankster of Ken Kesey’s group. The name Merlin was given to McCord by Neal Cassady.

McCord was one of the greatest pantomime, protégé to a legendary French Pantomime, Jean-Louis Barrault.

In 1971, McCord wrote, directed and performed in his play TAROT that won the NY Theatre Critics Silver Medal for best play.

In the early 70’s McCord performed with one of the best musical artists: Pink Floyd, Leon Russel and Genesis,  Van Morrison and Grateful Dead.

Joseph L. McCord passed away late April 2023. His fascinating life will be shared in a documentary movie that is still in the process of filming.

He was a friendly person to whomever he encountered.  His words were revelation to many;  and his life stories very inspiring. His captivating persona had others stop and listen when he would speak, hence " Merlin Speaks".
